Lejaby Lingerie
With vintage being very much the key word this season, Lejaby lingerie and underwear is right up there with its new 2010 designs.
Since the company was established in 1930, the label has evolved through the ages of lingerie, and for its celebratory Heritage collection this year turns to its classic designs of the 1930s; reinventing them in cotton satin.
The Lejaby company is one of the oldest existing lingerie and underwear companies, being 80 years old this year. Therefore it’s no surprise that with all this heritage to draw upon, Lejaby wasn’t short of inspiration when it came to incorporating some retro charm into its spring/summer lingerie collection.
Since it was established in the 1930s Lejaby lingerie and underwear has evolved through the ages of lingerie and for its Heritage collection, turns to its classic designs of the 1930s, reinventing them in cotton satin and non-stretch lace with their bras, briefs and suspenders. Look no further than Lara in periwinkle blue and vintage rose, Envie de Cotton, Crystal in soft pleated cream voile, Elixir and Douceur Retro.
For Lejaby it’s a tribute to the pioneer of the brand, Gabrielle Viannay, who first established the brand philosophy in 1930 along with her brother-in-law Marcel Blanchard. As the designs began to be known as bras “a la Gaby” so the name Lejaby was born. The brand continued to grow after Gabrielle died under the ownership of Marcel Blanchard and incorporated, briefs, suspenders basques and petticoats and became a trusted name within the lingerie industry. Lejaby is one of the true classic French brands trusted by generations of women the world over.
For Autumn/Winter 2010 Lejaby plans to introduce smoky shades and sophisticated style. Chantilly lace with mixed modern design gives an elegant twist. Innovative fabric combinations and delicate embroidered motifs, exude femininity, whilst jewelled and Swarovski details add a touch of seduction.
